IBM moves to 10Gbps I/O fabrics

IBM announced yesterday the Virtual Fabric Architecture: a collection of interconnect technologies and management tools for the BladeCenter H system.

The new technologies focus around delivering 10 Gbit/s connectivity to IBM blades, including hardware from partners such as Nortel 10G switches, NetXen 10G Ethernet cards, and the Cisco Embedded Fibre Channel Fabric Switch.
