Tom’s hardware guide is perhaps the most unbiased source for hardware performance you can find. They do extensive benchmarking of hardware.

They have newer reviews off the home page that you can also look at.
Intel is rapidly overcoming AMD’s technological lead. When you consider performance/watt, the newest chips from Intel are starting to put pressure on AMD.
