Pan-European HPC pact

I think it’s great when you can work “pan” into something. Like, say, “pan-cake.”

Anyway, HPCwire brings us this bit of news about goings on in Europe:

…Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Turkey and the United Kingdom signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the new initiative, “Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe” (PACE), to foster and develop this strategic area. This initiative aims to strengthen European science, engineering and supercomputer technologies.
