I saw this press release at SC Online, and it piqued my interest, but I’ve not been able to find out anything since. So, submitted without judgment for your own consideration:
MNB Technologies announces the receipt of a U.S. Navy research contract to develop a new class of field-portable “supercomputer” based on conventional notebook computers equipped with plug-in reconfigurable accelerators and a revolutionary new use model.
The company does work with embedded systems and FPGAs.

The competative nature of the early stages of the project prevent us (MNB Technologies) from publishing any detailed technical information concerning the new system. What we can say at this point is that it represents a radical departure from the way hardware acceleration is integrated into mission-critical systems. After the proof-of-concpet vehicle is delivered to the Navy (calendar Q1-2008) we will begin publishing technical/scientific papers concerning the approach.
