From SC Online last week:
The combined efforts from Fujitsu, Myricom, and Microsoft to deliver a world class High Performance Computing (HPC) solution, including Fujitsu servers and 10 Gigabit Ethernet switches; Myricom cards and drivers; Microsoft Windows Server 2003 x 64, Active Directory, and Compute Cluster Solution (CCS), provide a complete cluster for deploying applications, and accelerating processing capabilities. The Best Practice paper is intended to provide the fundamentals of configuring Fujitsu 10 GbE switches, as well as installing software for setting up a complete cluster. Tested in the Microsoft computing labs, this best practice installation approach will further service the industry, educate IT professionals on proper deployment and implementation guidelines, and facilitate the installers’ success.
Being the intrepid amateur hack that I am, and committed to making information available to you for only a measly mouse click, I started trying to find this paper to link to it. This was a chore. It is not linked to by SC Online, and Fujitsu also helpfully doesn’t link to it from its version of the press release.
A search on Fujitsu America’s home page turned up zilch. I finally wound up at the Fujitsu Computer Products of America site where I found the paper buried in the Ethernet Switches section of the white papers area, helpfully titled “XG Best Practices White Paper.”
Here’s the link.
