Last week at Computex hardware vendor Supermicro launched its new “SuperBlade.” The offering holds 10 blades in a 7U enclosure. Each blade can be populated in 2P or 4P flavors in any combination and the architecture supports both quad-core and dual-core CPUs across all speed grades.

Fully stacked you can get 160 CPU cores per 7U enclosure, with 960 cores per rack.

As Ashlee Vance at The Register points out this new offering is slightly more dense than either the Sun or HP offerings.
