CRA names first leaders of Computing Community Consortium

The Computing Research Association (CRA) announced today the first set of members for the permanent Council for the Computing Community Consortium (CCC).

The CCC was created by the CRA in a $6M US partnership with the National Science Foundation to revitalize focus on major research challenges in computing. According to the release Daniel Reed, chair of the Computing Research Association, said that the Consortium’s primary focus areas

will be to help the CCC catalyze the computing research community to debate long-range research challenges, build consensus around research visions, and develop the most promising visions into clearly defined initiatives.
