NCAR fires up Blue Gene/L

Speaking of the Blue Gene/L price drop and buying spree, NCAR has opened its 1024-node BG/L — named “frost” — up for business on the Teragrid.

Frost weighs in at 5.7 TFLOPS with 1024 dual-core 700 MHz PowerPC-440 CPUs. More at NCAR’s web site.
