Those commercials really irritated me. They were apparently effective, however.

Anyway, Dell announced today that

Dell logoFlorida State University (FSU) has selected a next-generation high-performance computing cluster (HPCC) from Dell to enable a wide range of academic research designed to benefit society. The cluster, unveiled today, is housed at FSU’s main data center in Tallahassee.

I had to do some digging, but the compute side of the machine is made of 128 Dell PowerEdge SC1435 servers, each a two socket dual-core Opteron (512 compute cores).
