Los Altos-based Rambus (NASDAQ:RMBS) closed the day at $16.71 after going as high as $17.15.
One of the potential suitors cited by traders and analysts was Santa Clara-based Sun Microsystems Inc. (NASDAQ:JAVA).
Rambus is one of the world’s premier technology licensing companies specializing in the invention and design of high-speed chip interfaces.
