A joint project between the ROCKS cluster development team and the Thai National Grid Center have released the latest addition to the ROCKS cluster `Rolls` [or packages]. The Animation Studio Roll [ANIST] combines best-of-breed open source tools for transforming your ROCKS cluster into a 3D animation render farm. A few excerpts from the release notes/package lists include:
- Open source 3D renderers: Blender, Yafray, Pixie, Povray, MegaPov
- Partial support for Autodesk Maya
- Inclusion of Dr.Queue. [3D render farm manager]
- Animation workstation support designed to control your render farm
