NASA Deploys SGI Data Migration Facility

SGI has announced an implementation of their Data Migration Facility storage product being deployed at the NASA Advanced Supercomputing facility at the NASA Ames Research Center. NASA will utilize DMF to move older files to tape archive, thus making faster disk-based resources self-managing. The solution is pegged to eventually allow NASA to manage 40 Petabytes [yes... Petabytes] or data.
