The new Sun HPC Community Portal has posted this video presentation by Peter Braam on the company’s plans for an all-new, open-source HPC software stack for large scale clusters like the one at TACC. The big surprise? As a reference stack for supporting large Lustre installations, there’s a lot of Linux in there as well as Solaris.
