Rackable launches new "Eco-Logical" servers

I say “harumpf” to all the green marketing foofarah.

My curmudgeonly attitude aside, Rackable announced on Friday that its launched 11 new servers based on its half-height server. The line is available immediately, according to the company. From the company

Rackable logoThe new server models feature a choice of one hot-swap 3.5” or two hot-swap 2.5” SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) or SATA II (Serial ATA II) disk drives, with capacity of up to two Terabytes per system. Each C1001 configuration can accommodate up to 64 GB of memory and draws as few as 161 total watts of power (with both processors installed). Up to 88 C1001 servers can be housed in a Rackable Systems rack to achieve extreme density in an environmentally-friendly footprint.
