SGI Picks up Panasas for Cluster Environments

SGI has announced that it will now offer Panasas ActiveStor Parallel Storage Clusters to customers deploying Linux clusters, especially their Altix ICE and Altix XE solutions. The addition of Panasas adds another high performance I/O option to customers.

SGI and Panasas have collaborated in the past. NASA Goddard Space Flight Center has a 74.5TB Panasas/SGI installation.
