Ah, the self-referential post

Dan Reed points to my article on HPC procurements and non-recoverable engineering expenses at HPCwire last week, and amplifies some of what I attributed to him along with a pointer to a recent essay at SIAM News that you’ll want to read.

By the way, HPCwire has a spiffy new web site that allows you to leave comments. If you have a comment on my article — let’s say, for example, that you think I’m totally off base and dress funny — drop it on the web site and, after I get done sulking, I’ll respond back.

  1. Christine says:

Well, there is that issue with your hair… :)

  2. We’ve just been polite about the wardrobe. :-)

Hey speaking of wardrobe. My insideHPC shirt has been STOLEN! I caught the culprit and plan to punish swiftly. It’s my 12 year old daughter. She has absconded with the highly prized and impossible to acquire clothing of the nerds.

Now she has no choice but to become one of us. She shall be assimilated into the HPC nerd world!

  3. And speaking of insideHPC shirts, I was attending a talk when you were passing them out at SC’07. Can I earmark one for SC’08 so I don’t miss out on the latest and greatest in geek fashion? :)

(“All the cool kids have them… neener, neener!”)

  4. Rich – that’s awesome. Who would have thought?

Brian – I hope to do shirts again this year. If I do (keep your fingers crossed), I’ll do announcements on the site ad nauseam, so it will be hard to miss the news.
