sc08Wait a second!?  Supercomputing isn’t until November!  The SC Education Program holds a myriad of program workshops throughout the year to keep the old hats in touch and introduce some new hats to the conference.  The Summer Program is geared toward helping educators in teaching/mentoring high performance computing and applied computational methodologies.

The SC Education program doesn’t end at the SC Conference! Education events continue throughout the year, culminating in the SC08 conference at Austin, Texas in November. In this way, communities are encouraged to grow and branch out, and then gather at the SC08 Conference both to incorporate new members as well as discuss what methods for education have been most successful.

Topics for the Summer Education Program cover:

.: Applications of HPC, Grids, and Parallel Computing to Science Education

.: Computational Biology for Biology Educators

.: Computational Chemistry for Chemistry Educators

.: Computational Physics and Parallel Environments

.: High Performance Computing in the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences

.: Integrating Computational Science into the Undergraduate Curriculum

.: Introduction to Modeling, Simulation and Computational Methods

.: Nanotechnologies and High Performance Computing in Education and Research
