New version of Threading Building Blocks available

At OSCON yesterday, Intel announced that the latest commercial version of its Thread Building Blocks library would be available, complementing the new open source version that was already available. From the release

Intel logo…Intel announced a substantial upgrade to Intel Threading Building Blocks (TBB), its award winning C++ template library available on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. TBB is a key time-saving developer tool that helps programmers implement threading into applications and improves application performance on multi-core processors. TBB 2.1 makes it easier for developers to apply TBB to new uses in their software including graphical user interfaces, artificial intelligence, network input/output and more.

More information in the links in the release, and at HPCwire later today or tomorrow when the article I’ve written on the new version of the library is published.
