PGI offers Fortran compiler to students for free

PGI emailed me yesterday to share news that they’ve

…announced the Free PVF for Education Program. Now through 30 June 2009, PGI is offering a single-user node-locked license to PGI Visual Fortran at no cost. To qualify, an applicant must be a registered student or faculty member of an academic institution and currently living in the USA. The license includes free updates and free technical support via the PGI User Forums. The license is valid through 31 August 2009. The offer is available through the PGI website only and no purchase is necessary.

    Hello to you. I am a retired gentleman and am trying to learn fortran. I am entirely on my own at home and trying to keep busy.
    I would love to be able to try your Fortran if possible.
    I hope you don’t mind me asking.
