UMass Unveils Microway Cluster

The University of Massachusetts has unveiled its latest cluster, named Cyclops.  The cluster, purchased from Microway, will aid researchers in the Theoretical and Computational Fluid Dynamics Lab in the UMass deprtament of mechanical and industrial engineering.  All told, $120k bought them 608 processors.

It really changes what you can do with a computer,” said Blair Perot, who put the system together. He is director of the Theoretical and Computational Fluid Dynamics Laboratory in the UMass department of mechanical and industrial engineering.
