STFC Daresbury Selects TotalView

STFC Daresbury, a lab associated with the UK’s, Science and Technology Facilities Council, has announced that it has selected TotalView as the debugger/profiling tool for its IBM BlueGene/P.  The latest version of TotalView includes memory debugging and asynchronous control of threads created by OpenMP and/or pthreads on the the BlueGene.

TotalView’s collaborative arrangement is a terrific opportunity for Daresbury Laboratory,” said Mike Ashworth, head of advanced research computing at Daresbury’s Computational Science and Engineering Department.

According to the article, the main workloads using the TotalView suite are computational chemistry, materials/fluid dynamics and ocean/atmospheric modeling.  For more info on the announcement, read the full article here.
