Mellanox IB Silicon on TYAN Server Platform

Mellanox has announced that its ConnectX 40Gb/s Infiniband adapters have been selected for Landed-on-Motherboard [LOM] applications across TYAN’s S7017 server motherboard line.  The combination of TYAN board and Mellanox silicon eliminates the need for separate high bandwidth/low latency communication adapters.

The TYAN S7017 is a 2-way solution that is exceptionally proficient in memory intensive and high-cluster IT infrastructures,” said James Sytwu, GM of the TYAN Business Unit of Mitac International Corp. “By integrating the Mellanox ConnectX 40Gb/s InfiniBand adapter, we can provide our customers with a performance-leading, energy-efficient solution that meets their current and future requirements.”

Our ConnectX 40Gb/s InfiniBand LOM design win with TYAN demonstrates Mellanox’s industry-leading performance and I/O consolidation features,” said Wayne Augsburger, vice president of business development at Mellanox Technologies. “With outstanding performance, power efficiency, integration and feature-set, ConnectX-enabled servers and storage systems from TYAN are optimized for volume data center and high-performance computing market demands.”
