Folding for Stephanie

My pals at NVIDIA sent me an email today letting me know about a special way this month that you can take part in the fight against cancer.

Scott Sherman’s 13 year old daughter Stephanie has Hodgkins Stage 4B cancer, which is something I don’t even want to imagine happening to my babies. Scott has supported Folding@Home for over 5 years, and this month he’s asking people to Fold for Stephanie.

He has arranged for prizes for those with the most folds — including a GeForce GTX 285 signed by Jen-Hsun Huang – Co-Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of NVIDIA — to the person who contributes the most folds.

You can read more details (and follow the latest prize status) at this link, but here are the contest basics

1. Fold for Bjorn3D Team 41608.

2. If your Folding handle is Rob, for the month of February Fold under a new name that includes “-Stephanie”, like this: Rob-Stephanie. This will let people checking our team stats see your are Folding for my daughter.

3. Register on our forums with you normal name without -Stephanie and make at least 2 posts so I can notify you if you win.

    Hi John,

Feel free to delete this if it’s considered inappropriate advertising (for a charity, that is), but if anyone else reading this has also been effected by cancer, a great place to donate is the ‘StandUp2Cancer’ website, listed below. Cycles are good, money for new ideas, fundamental research and clinical trials is even better:
