HPCWire: SiCortex, today, announced that they have gained the business of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology [KIT] in Germany.  KIT selected the SiCortex platform for research in meteorology, energy and life sciences.  They’re especially interested in performing numerical simulations of the entire human respiratory tract.

The Steinbuch Center for Computing (SCC), the new information technology center at KIT, is closely involved in research activities related to the emerging multicore and co-processor technologies,” said Professor Vincent Heuveline, SCC director. “The SiCortex system offers a very attractive and energy-efficient solution with the high degree of parallelism needed for our research activities.”

The machine will be sold/supported for MEGWARE Computer GmbH, the SiCortex European partner.  For more info, read the full release here at HPCWire.
