ANSYS Expands HPC Capacity for Enhanced R&D

ANSYS announced today that they have expanded their in-house HPC systems in order to optimize the product development process.  HP has provided two HPC systems, totaling 76 nodes or 576 cores.  One system, with 28 HP DL 165/160 server nodes will be located in the US.  The other, located in Germany, will contain 48 HP ProLiant BL465c blade servers.

Customers in the computer-aided engineering field are demanding high-performance computing systems that reduce the turnaround time of product development to maintain a competitive advantage in the marketplace,” said Ed Turkel, product marketing manager of the Scalable Computing & Infrastructure organization at HP. “HP’s industry-standard server technology combined with solutions from ANSYS ensures that customers have the high-performance systems they need to support large, more complex simulations with the throughput required.”

The new systems will be used for large-scale product develop, tuning and performance testing of the various ANSYS products.  For more info, read the full release here.
