NCAR-Wyoming: Full Steam Ahead

After nearly a year’s delay, the National Center for Atmospheric Research’s proposed supercomputing facility project in Cheyenne, Wyoming is moving forward.  The project, deemed NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputing Center [NWSC], have named the official architectural and design team for the effort.  According to NCAR director Eric Baron, the design phase is on track enough to formally seek funding from the NSF in June and possibly break ground in the Fall.

NCAR is at long last in full design mode,” Cheyenne LEADS president Randy Bruns said. “That’s going to be a huge boon for our community.”
