Intel recently allowed alluring eyes a glimpse at their upcoming Larrabee CPU+GPU processor. The fuzzy architecture picture was shown during a presentation at the opening of the Visual Computing Institute of Germany’s Saarland University. According to industry speculation and reports, the version depicted will include 32 cores and 32 vector units. As we’ve all heard before, Larrabee with be based on the core x86 instruction set, but details are still a bit sketchy regarding the flops/clock, clock, pipeline and cache density.
