Mellanox, today, announced the release of its new IS5000 Infiniband switch system family, featuring quad-data-rate silicon. Leveraging the fourth generation of Mellanox Infiniband silicon, the IS5000 can scale switch devices from 36 to 648 ports in a single enclosure. It provides anywhere from 2.9 to 51.8Tb/s of non-blocking bandwidth depending upon the configuration. Alongside the switch release, they have also upgraded the FabricIT switch management suite.
