UK HPC integrator OCF on shortlist for Channel Award

I like this story from the point of view of “HPC meets the real world.” This morning Gavin Loader emailed me to let me know that OCF, which is headed up by Julien Fielden, has been shortlisted for CRN’s Channel Awards in the category of Integrator of the Year

The reseller awards recognise excellence in the delivery of solutions, service and support to end user customers, taking into consideration the reseller’s ability to deliver real benefits to the user organisation, and to meet customer objectives in terms of improved efficiency, ROI and investment protection, and cost reduction.

The Integrator of the Year category demands that resellers demonstrate how they are true integrator partners to their customers.  OCF submitted examples of its work with Tecnica, Landmark Solutions, the University of Southampton, University of Swansea and University of Westminster – to prove it is a cost effective, invaluable, integration partner.

OCF is the only HPC company nominated this year. The awards will be given on the 19th November 2009 in London. Voting for the awards is open now and closes on Friday 9th October at 5pm; you can vote at http://www.channelawards.net/VotingPBP_AwardsVoting_Register_UP.aspx?mode=1.

What does all this mean to OCF? Julian Fielden, Managing Director OCF Plc, told us in an email

For OCF it would be recognition that the team here continues to deliver quality bespoke HPC systems and value add integration services that make us a great partner — and apparently better than our in-category competitors. Also, our team works tirelessly on our customer’s behalf so it would be deserved recognition of the hard work that everyone puts in daily.

For the industry, it would mean HPC is no longer niche and something only understood and used in government departments and academia. The competitive advantages of HPC are becoming apparent and appreciated by all, and are now worthy of an award!

Comments

  1. They get my vote! I have been looking at some of their work – an impressive company. Not sure how many HPC integrators are in the UK, but they seem to take the lion share of deals that bypass the manufacturers.

There are others…but this company has a good rep and I think the others are playing catch up. My vote is cast
