WKU Receives HPC Grant

Western Kentucky University has announced that they were awarded a US Department of Education grant for new high performance computing equipment.  The $2.4 million grant will go towards the new High Performance Computing Center in the Ogden College of Sciences and Engineering.

The center will be led by Claire Rinehart, professor in the WKU biology department and director of the WKU Bioinformatics Science and Information Center, and Rezaul Mahmood, professor in the WKU geography and geology department and associate director of the Kentucky Mesonet Project and Kentucky Climate Center

WKU has also committed $50,000 for the project directed towards hiring three people to run the center.  For more info, read the full article here.
