Parallel application tools maker Allinea announced this week that they’ve added a reseller to help them work up some steam in Europe.
Allinea Software, a leading provider of innovative products for the development of high performance computing applications, has signed an agreement with German reseller SMB GmbH to sell Allinea’s Distributed Debugging Tool (DDT) and Optimization and Profiling Tool (OPT) in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. The agreement took effect in September 2009.
…SMB will also sell Allinea’s DDTLite, a plug-in that simplifies parallel code development for Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 SP1.
Hooking up with a German company makes sense: if you look at the Top500 visualization I did that breaks out the EU by country, Germany is second only to the US in ownership of Top500 systems.
“Although Allinea has an established reputation in Germany, we wanted to team up with a strong local partner to really take our sales to the next level,” says Jacques Philouze, Worldwide VP of Sales and Marketing at Allinea Software. “We’ve always been impressed by SMB’s deep knowledge of the HPC market in Germany and neighbouring countries, as well as the close relationships they have with their customers. We’re glad to have SMB become a part of our family and I have no doubt that this relationship will be very successful for both parties.”
