I’ve just heard from SC09 that former Vice President Al Gore has announced the title of his talk at next month’s conference in Portland, Or.

SC09 logoThe title of Al Gore’s Keynote Presentation for Thursday, November 19th.  The SC09 Keynote will be titled, “Building Solutions – Energy, Climate and Computing for a Changing World.”

No abstract yet, but from the title it looks like there is reason to hope that this talk will be relevant to us, and not just a rehash of An Inconvenient Truth.

Comments

  1. yes, I understand Gore’s Keynote is being prepared specifically for the SC09 conference and is not one of his canned presentations. This is very good news indeed.

  2. Rich Hickey says

I love how the “keynote” speech is after the conference is over. No politics involved in this fiasco.

  3. Well, seems like if the conference is getting a vice president to speak, they have to be prepared to be a little flexible. Think of the exposure this will get for the letters “HPC” when he speaks. That alone is worth it in my mind.
