The Renault Formula One team announced a big sponsorship deal this morning with HP. The Renault R30 cars will carry the HP logo and branding throughout the 2010 season. Outside of the obvious monetary benefits, the Renault team will have access to HP technology in order to assist their ongoing team development. Specifically, they will obtain access to HP high performance computing gear for use with larger [presumably CFD] simulations.
F1 has a proven ability to boost brand awareness around the world, and we are proud that Renault F1 Team will be HP’s partner of choice in achieving this goal.” [Renault F1 Team Chairman, Gérard Lopez]
HP is not new to Formula One sponsorship. They were previously sponsors of the Williams team from 2002 to 2005. For more info, read the full release here.
