The HPC Advisory Council has a couple upcoming events scheduled that I wanted to let you know about. First up is a half-day workshop at the TeraGrid Conference on August 2nd in Pittsburgh. This event will focus on technical presentations related to acceleration in HPC

HPC Advisory Council logoThe “HPC Applications Best Practices and the Effect of New Acceleration Technologies” will provide an overview on the latest technologies that have been reviewed as part of the HPC Advisory Council’s activities (such as NVIDIA GPUDirect, MPI offloads, HPC in the Cloud, RoCE and more) and an in-depth overview of libraries and application optimizations, profiling at small scale and large scale (including results from some of the world’s fastest supercomputers) and best practices. Hands-on activities around applications best practices will be included as part of the tutorial.

Full agenda and speakers (including Jeff Layton) at the link above. Next up is the 2nd annual China Workshop, co-located with HPC China on October 27 in Beijing.

The workshop will focus on HPC productivity, and advanced HPC topics and futures, and will bring together system managers, researchers, developers, computational scientists and industry affiliates to discuss recent developments and future advancements in High-Performance Computing.

Agenda at the link; attendance is free to HPC China attendees, but registration is required.
