AMD logoAMD today announced that it has named a new Chief Technology Officer to its Server group.  Donald Newell will take the post of vice president and CTO in the group.  Newell was previously as a senior principal engineer leading the System-on-Chip [SoC] and datacenter networking architecture groups at AMD rival, Intel Labs.
