Video: Einstein@Home Finds Rotating Pulsar

Our Video Sundays feature continues with this animation of gravitational waves from the Einstein@home project.

Like the Computing for Clean Water project we covered earlier this week, Einstein@home is based on Berkeley’s BOINC volunteer software platform. The program uses your computer’s idle time to search for gravitational waves from spinning neutron stars (also called pulsars) using data from the LIGO gravitational wave detector.
