SC10 announced plans this week for an opening press briefing on Monday, Nov. 15 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. As far as I know, this is a first for the show, and I think it is a great idea to help bring HPC into perspective for the press at large.

As part of this briefing, industry analysts will discuss the state of the HPC market, including noteworthy trends. Presenters include:

  • Addison Snell, CEO, Intersect360 Research, who will will provide an overview of its recent studies on Cloud Computing in HPC and barriers to entry for small to medium size manufacturers. Addison will also provide guidance for critical technologies in transition, including cloud, interconnects, accelerators, and file systems.
  • Earl Joseph, HPC Program Vice President, IDC will provide a brief overview of the HPC technical computing market and recent IDC research results on the major issues and trends impacting users and vendors.

This is sure to be a must-see event for reporters and bloggers, so please register for SC10 and join us at the briefing.
