Registration is now open for the annual Beowulf Boot Camp, June 6-10, 2011 on the LSU campus. Designed for high school teachers and students, the Summer program offers a unique opportunity to work with advanced technologies that are not typically available in classroom settings.

During Beowulf Boot Camp 2011, students will work hands-on with LSU Department of Computer Science Professor Thomas Sterling, a former NASA scientist who invented the Beowulf supercomputing cluster, and Dr. Steven Brandt, a computational scientist in the CCT who specializes in programming, as well as other researchers from the CCT. The students will learn how to use supercomputers for research, develop and run basic applications and experiment with computer science techniques.
