The GWDG society for scientific data processing has deployed a 28 Tflops AMD Magny-Cours supercomputer at Georg August University in Göttingen, Germany. Described as being 60 percent more efficient than its predecessor, the 3072-core system will be used for numerical simulations of cosmological models and the basic properties of molecules.

The system was built by MEGWARE, a German HPC vendor and IT equipment provider for industry and public authorities in Germany and Europe.
