Final EESI Conference will Look to Exascale

The EESI Final International Conference will take place October 10-11 in Barcelona with a view towards Exascale computing:

The main objective of the EESI Final International Conference is presenting the project results to the stakeholders, scientists and policy makers containing presentations and discussions with all experts participating to the WG activities. Beyond the EESI vision and roadmap, the presentation will include societal impact of using Exascale computing, cost for using exascale computing, and cost for the society not using Exascale computing.

EESI is an 18-month project that began in January, 2010. Lead by Jean-Yves Berthou of EDF, EESI was designed to “build a European vision and roadmap to address the challenges of the new generation of massively parallel systems composed of millions of heterogeneous cores which will provide multi-Petaflop performances in the next few years and Exaflop performances in 2020.”
