Rocks+ Big Data on Amazon EC2 – Now in Beta From StackIQ

Today StackIQ announced the immediate availability of a beta release of Rocks+ Big Data on EC2, a “cluster in the cloud automation solution for Apache Hadoop.”

By packaging the intelligent multi-server automation and management framework for Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud with a complete Hadoop software stack, StackIQ provides a single, modular distribution for spinning up scalable Hadoop clusters. Rocks+ Big Data provides all of the software needed to install and configure a Hadoop cluster in EC2 in a matter of hours. Organizations with large-scale computational needs for tasks such as data processing, analytics, genomic sequencing, financial analysis, imaging, and more will find a highly scalable applications solution with Rocks+ Big Data.

Formerly known as Clustercorps, StackIQ now has a set of Rocks+ products that simplify the installation and management of highly scalable cluster and cloud computing. The beta release of Rocks+ Big Data on EC2 is now available.
