OpenACC and HMPP Speed TSUBAME 2.0 Super

As a hybrid supercomputer, TSUBAME 2.0 at the Tokyo Institute of Technology is highly touted for its speed and efficiency. Now system users are gaining access to improved performance thanks to the OpenACC 1.0 standard and a new version of HMPP hybrid compiler from CAPS-Enterprise.

The number of TSUBAME GPU users increases constantly however they are advanced users writing their codes in CUDA or OpenCL. OpenACC will strongly encourage the users having conventional codes to use GPU on TSUBAME” says Takayuki Aoki, professor of Global Scientific Information and Computing Center, Tokyo Institute of Technology.
