Intel Looks to Five Nanometer Chips after 2015

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Over at TechEye, Mike Magee writes that Intel is confident the company can someday produce transistors at the staggeringly small line width of five nanometers.

Intel is investing in new fabs for 14 nanometre fabs at Oregon, Arizona and Ireland, for 300mm wafers. Building is well under way. Plans for future technology include 10nm, seven nm, and five nm after 2015. 14nm technology will come towards the end of next year.

If Intel can deliver as it has in the past, it looks like Moore’s Law has at least 10 more years of life. Read the Full Story.
