In this video from SC12, Professor Kei Hiraki from the University of Tokyo discusses the Computer Zoo, a comprehensive collection of restored, fully functioning historical computers in Tokyo.

Since early computers from the 1970s and 1980s had little documentation on power consumption and other metrics, the Computer Zoo is testing these historical systems and using that data to chart the future of processors in terms of performance per watt.

Got old computers? The Computer Zoo is seeking donations of working and non-working machines from the past. Download the datasheet or the Full Poster with Historical Data (PDF).
