Video: Using Supercomputing to Speed Recycling of Plastic

This video describes supercomputing research by the Barcelona Supercomputer Center and the Delft University of Technology to help design a plastic sorting plant. The optimized design will be able to separate polyethylene and polypropylene, the two main types of plastic, according to their respective densities. Each year, every European throws away an average of 30 kilograms of plastic.
