Altair Technology Conference to Showcase Simulation Trends in Aviation and Automotive

The Altair Technology Conference has published its agenda featuring top engineers from world-leading aviation and automotive companies. As the premier annual event for the advanced manufacturing, product design, science, HPC, and enterprise-computing communities, the ATC takes place Oct. 1-3 in Garden Grove, California.

Keynote addresses include:

  • Robert McIntosh, Boeing chief engineer of weight engineering in the BCA Flight Sciences organization, will review opportunities and challenges of introducing composites into the 787 airplane design and the value of simulation in the process.
  • Brian Cottrell, Honeywell Aerospace chief of structures, will detail evolving trends in the structural optimization of gas turbine engines through computer-aided engineering.
  • Dr. Jayaraman Sivakumar, senior manager of the engine structures component design and analysis department at GM Powertrain, will discuss the past, present, and future of analysis-led design.
  • Norihiko Sawa, group manager for Toyota Japan, will present an application of coupled MBD and FEA full-vehicle simulation for car body durability analysis using HyperWorks.
