In this video from the Emerging Technologies Booth at SC13, Thomas Sohmers from Rex Computing describes how the company is using ARM-powered Parallella boards from Adapteva as building blocks for low-energy HPC clusters.

Thomas Sohmers (Founder and CEO) – In 2010, Thomas, started working in embedded cluster computing when he was recruited by Kurt Keville to work with him. Thomas was then selected as a 2013 Thiel Fellow, where he decided to drop out of school in order to pursue “changing the world” by starting REX Computing and bringing low powered and high performance computing systems to the market.

In related news, Federico Lucifredi has just posted a detailed review of Parallela this week over at O’Reilly.
