In this video, scientists and researchers explain how Intel Parallel Computing Centers are fostering innovation around the globe.

Intel Parallel Computing Centers are universities, institutions, and labs that are leaders in their field. The centers are focusing on modernizing applications to increase parallelism and scalability through optimizations that leverage cores, caches, threads, and vector capabilities of microprocessors and coprocessors. Code modernization is expected to enable large performance increases while maintaining the code portability users expect.

In related news, this week Intel expanded Xeon Phi 7100 family with the 7120D coprocessor, a “dense form factor” product. The 7120D co-processor does not come with an integrated cooler, which allows OEM manufacturers to implement custom solutions.
