The event takes place on Sunday, June 22nd, in conjunction with the ISC’14 conference in Leipzig, Germany. The workshop will focus on HPC productivity, and advanced HPC topics and futures, and will bring together system managers, researchers, developers, computational scientists and industry affiliates to discuss recent developments and future advancements in High-Performance Computing.

The workshop will be a full day workshop, and will include coffee breaks and lunch, courtesy of the HPC Advisory Council.

Topics include:

  • The SKA project (Paul Calleja, University of Cambridge)
  • MVAPICH2 and MVAPICH2-X Projects: Latest Developments and Future Plans (DK Panda, Ohio State University)
  • Exascale panel (DK Panda, Rich Graham, Paul Calleja, Addison Snell, Moderator: Gilad Shainer)
  • Increasing the efficiency of your GPU-enabled cluster with rCUDA (Federico Silla, Universitat Politècnica de València)
  • High Performance Computing trends (Addison Snell, Intersect 360)
  • MPI and OpenSHMEM integration (Rich Graham, Mellanox Technologies and MPI Forum)
  • Applications Performance Optimizations – Best Practices (Pak Lui, HPC Advisory Council)
  • Student Cluster Competition Round Table (Student Cluster Challenge participants)
  • Runtime Performance Optimizations for an OpenFOAM Simulation (Oliver Schroeder, science + computing ag)

The HPC Advisory Council is a large eco-system organizations which focuses on bridging the gap between high-performance computing use and its potential, bringing the beneficial capabilities of HPC to new users for better research, education, innovation and product manufacturing, and brings users the expertise needed to operate HPC systems, provide application designers with the tools needed to enable parallel computing, and to strengthen the qualification and integration of HPC system products. The HPC Advisory Council will be presenting at the workshop, as well as distinguished speakers from the HPC research organizations and vendors.

Registration through ISC’14 is required.
