ncms-logo-colorThe National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) has become an affiliate to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Joint Center for Energy Storage Research (JCESR). Led by Argonne National Laboratory, JCESR directs a major research initiative selecting national leaders in science and engineering from government, academia and industry to create breakthrough energy storage technology and overcome critical scientific and technical barriers. Collaboration with affiliates like NCMS will enable JCESR to meet its aggressive goals.

Given our many collaboration projects around energy storage and breadth of members aligned with JCESR’s mission, we look forward to working with JCESR to help speed commercialization of these technologies,” said NCMS President and CEO, Rick Jarman.

Jarman is also looking forward to bringing NCMS’ unique capabilities and impeccable reputation to the affiliation stating that “Recognized for collaboration, product development, and sustainability, NCMS offers the cutting edge programs and approaches that will drive the success and innovation of manufacturing and technological research and development well into the 21st Century.”

It’s NCMS’ reputation that has made it a desirable JCESR affiliate. Director of JCESR at Argonne National Laboratory, George Crabtree, says, “We are pleased to include NCMS as a JCESR affiliate. We believe their unique “voice of industry” perspective and successful history of managing multi-partner collaborations will prove highly valuable.”
